Cost: $20US for admission which includes a tour.
TIP: buy tickets online from website. Park at the Visitors’ Center and come inside to meet your guide. Tours begin at their scheduled time, leaving from the Visitor Center on a 400 meter / ¼ mile stroll along the scenic river path. Tours last approximately 90 minutes and provide enjoyment of the exterior and interior of the house. Please wear weather appropriate attire and comfortable walking shoes which you will be asked to remove for the interior part of the tour.

Drive from O’Hare Airport: Travel west on I-290 to I-88. Proceed west on I-88 continuing past two toll islands to the Sugar Grove exit (West Rt. 56) – continue on Route 56 until the turn-off for IL-47/US-30/Sugar Grove. Travel south on Route 47. Turn right (west) onto Route 34. Travel to Eldamain Road (about 2 miles / 3km) and turn left. Eldamain Road ends at River Road. Take a right on River Road (approximately 2 miles / 3km). The Farnsworth House Visitor Center will be the first open gate in the black chain link fence on the left.
Drive from Midway Airport or the south Loop: Travel south on I-55 to Hwy. 126, the Plainfield exit. Continue on Hwy 126 through Plainfield to Yorkville. At Hwy 47 in Yorkville turn north (right) and proceed across the Fox River. At River Road (the first street immediately past the bridge) turn left (west). Continue west 4 miles / 6.5km to the Visitors’ Center of the Farnsworth House. Chicagoland travel time varies with Traffic. Travel time could be anywhere between 1.25 and 1.75 hours from the Loop.
