getting there:
From the north
Follow highway E45. South of Aabenraa take exit 71 towards Sønderborg. Follow road 41. In the roundabout before Sønderborg turn towards Nordborg, following road 405. Follow the road across the Alssund bridge.
Continue on road 405 for 26 km, on the way you will pass through two major roundabouts. You will then pass the Danfoss headquarter on your right hands side. 300 meter further you will pass an intersection.
The first road on your right after the intersection is Mads Patentvej. Turn right on this road towards the parking lot of Danfoss Universe.
Alternatively, you can save approximately 30 kms of driving by taking the ferry “Bitten” from Ballebro in Jutland to Hardeshøj in Northern Als. The ferry departs every half hour.
From the south
Follow highway E45. Take exit 75 to Sønderborg (route 8). In the roundabout before Sønderborg turn towards Nordborg, following road 401. Follow the road across the Alssund bridge.

By Ferry
From Funen, you can get to Northern Als via the Bøjden-Fynshav ferry. Timetable
When you leave the ferry in Fynshav, you drive straight onward for approximately 900 meters. Turn left and stay on this road for 5 km. Till you meet route 405 to Nordborg. Turn right and drive north for 8 km.
You will then pass the Danfoss headquarter on your right hands side. 300 meter further you will pass an intersection.
The first road on your right after the intersection is Mads Patentvej. Turn right on this road towards the parking lot of Danfoss Universe.

Danfoss Universe is a 5.5 hectar science museum park embedded in the agricultural landscape of Nordborg, next to the founder’s home and the Danfoss HQ. Here children and adults gain knowledge through games and learn about the forces of nature, the world of science, and new technologies.
The two new additions to the park, the Cumulus exhibition building (curiosity center) and a cafeteria (food factory), extends the park into the winter months by enclosing spaces for exhibitions and scientific experiments.
The Cumulus exhibition building’s cloud-like roofscape, thus the name, is repeated in the cafeteria building.
The new buildings, with their metallic facades and tar roofs, rise up from the ground and provide spaces which articulate the fusion of outdoor landscape and indoor exhibition. This active ground modulates according to program and location in the park.
The endpoints of the buildings blur the line between building and park by offering inside-out spaces as display areas and projection surfaces related to the temporary exhibitions inside.
